Interim Marketing Executive

Do you need a top-notch marketing VP
on an interim basis?

Services for Exceptional Clients

At times Christine Thompson serves as a senior marketing executive on an interim or part-time basis for clients.

Generally she fills the role of VP of Marketing for an emerging firm that has achieved customer traction, and is now ready to expand its market footprint. Christine has also served privately held firms in the $50–$500 million range.

Typical Client Motivations

Clients tend to call us when they need or want:

  • A highly experienced marketing veteran to drive a critical component of strategy. But they can’t afford expensive talent on a permanent basis until they are larger and more established.
  • A “marquee management team” prior to an IPO, but cannot attract those people as employees at this stage.
  • A temporary replacement for an executive who is out on leave, or on another assignment.

Some Sample Clients

  • Primus Knowledge Solutions (later acquired by ATG): VP of Marketing
  • Corbis: VP of Marketing
  • Sony Europe: incubation stage for a new venture (online community)
  • Early-stage firms (pre-money): BigScreen, Newnham Research (now DisplayLink)

Business Terms

Location

Because Christine is located in the Seattle area, the client’s offices should be within commuting distance of Seattle.

In rare circumstances she may be able to serve out-of-area clients, if the client’s organization is dispersed and their staff already adept at virtual meetings to supplement on-site work.

Other Terms

These interim executive engagements are under contract with Informing Arts, for a finite term. Their duration is measured in months or quarters, unless the role is performed on a part-time basis over a longer period of time.

Compensation is based on a monthly retainer fee. The client is not responsible for benefits or other employee-related expenses (other than reimbursing direct expenses such as travel). Technically speaking, this is an independent contractor role.
